Commandment I
Thou shalt not fear the trail, for the trail was made for thee.

Commandment II
Thou shalt engage low range when the mountain laughs at thee.

Commandment III
Honor thy diesel, thy oil, and thy toolbox, that thy journeys may be long.

Commandment IV
Thou shalt not turn back merely because the road looks questionable.

Commandment V
Remember the mud, and keep it holy.

Commandment VI
Thou shalt help thy neighbor when his modern SUV becomes stuck.

Commandment VII
Thou shalt carry snacks, tools, and at least one good story.

Commandment VIII
Thou shalt respect the machine that carries thee into wild places.

Commandment IX
Thou shalt not panic when the map ends.

Commandment X
Thou shalt explore boldly, for adventure begins where the pavement ends.
